The Mayor of Kutaisi City Municipality, Ioseb Khakhaleishvili hold the meeting with the experts of OGP Local (Open Government Partnership).

The representatives of UNDP (United Nations Development Program), the coordinator of the Project Governance Tinatin Beshkenadze as well as the experts Lasha Gogidze and Tamar Gzirishvili attended the meeting.

Kutaisi Municipality was involved in OGP local (Open Government Partnership) in 2022yy. OGP is a platform, where the civil society plays the important role. This program would have supported the state services to become more active and effective as well as the citizens to be involved more actively in the governance.

“Today we met the program experts, with whom we discussed the responsibilities within the framework of 2023-2025 program.

In cooperation with the international donors, several projects are being implemented in Kutaisi city Municipality, which will have the positive impact on our city”-stated Ioseb Khkhaleishvili

Moreover the conference entitled “The role of civil society in OGP implementing process” was held in Akaki Tsereteli State University, which was organized by the partner organization “LDA” (Local Democratic Agency in Georgia)

Besides the head of Administration of Kutaisi City Municipality Petre Adamadze delivered his speech about the importance of participating in OGP program. The action plan of Kutaisi Municipality within OGP local program 2023-2025yy was presented by the Head of Foreign Relations and International Projects department, Shorena Khukhua.
