In 2023 one more program of USAID would be implemented in Kutaisi. A new program of the local authority has been made in Georgia on the path of supporting decentralization and public governance reforms. Kutaisi Municipality passed three stages of selection successfully, expressed the keen wish of either financial or resource participation and appeared among 11 Municipalities, where the program would start functioning in 2023. The local self-governance program is 5 years long initiative, funded by USAID Georgia and its budget sums up 21 million dollars.

 The program aims at supporting decentralization and public governance reforms, increasing the engagement of the citizens in efficiency of the local self-government and decision making process as well as promoting the public service development oriented on inclusion and customers.
