The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, within the framework of the volunteer development program - "Georgian Volunteer", announces a competition for the selection of volunteers from 16 to 25 years old (2 volunteers will be selected from each municipality).
The aim of the program is to strengthen the institution of volunteerism, to develop an unified network of volunteers throughout Georgia, to raise civic awareness among young people through volunteering, to increase the number of young people interested in volunteering, to promote the idea of selfless labor for the benefit of society.
In the first stage of the competition, young people wishing to participate in the program must fill in the application form by regions by July 3 of the current year, which is posted on the website http://youth.indygo.ge/ In the second stage of the competition, the candidates selected on the basis of application forms.
Candidates who have passed the second stage of the competition will be interviewed. The program will be coordinated by the program coordinated non-governmental organizations selected by the Ministry, as a result of which 2 winners will be identified in each municipality.
The following factors will be considered in the selection
Age from 16 to 25 years;
Motivation and sociability;
Teamwork skills;
Public and civic activism;
In total, it will be selected from 64 municipalities of Georgia. 148 motivated volunteers from Tbilisi (two volunteers from each municipality), who will undergo a 5-day preparatory training seminar on topics such as:
Volunteering and recruiting volunteers;
Communication and presentation skills;
Forms of relations with public institutions;
Writing projects and raising funds;
And other issues related to volunteering.
At the end of the training seminar, each volunteer will be awarded a certificate of completion of the training seminar and will be granted the status of "Georgian Volunteer" by the end of the year.
The volunteers selected under the program will use their free time, knowledge and skills until the end of 2018 to contribute to the implementation of activities useful to the community and based on the needs and characteristics of the local municipality. Initiatives such as: creation of volunteer clubs, environmental activities, charitable activities - helping people with various needs, social activities, showing movies, holding foreign language courses, promoting a healthy lifestyle (sports competitions, marathons), integration into the community of children with disabilities will be implemented in Tbilisi and regions. , Celebrating remarkable dates, holding creative evenings, meetings with celebrities and more.
Volunteers participating in the program will be able to:
To pass a 5-day training seminar completely free of charge;
Participate in various types of events under the research of the Ministry;
Get involved in international volunteering projects (European Voluntary Service);
