The Mayor of Kutaisi City Municipality, Ioseb Khakhaleishvili met the representatives of EU Black Sea program. Georgiana Bratu and Jessika Papuca paid a visit to Kutaisi to monitor the project “ BSB 457 Rivers Free from the Wastes-Clean Black Sea”.
The project was carried out by the local authority of Kutaisi in 2018-2021 yy and the composting center of the waste had been created in the city within the project, by which there had been accomplished the separation of the plastic and paper. The representatives of the donor organization looked at the composting center created within the project.
“BSB 457 the Rivers Free from the Wastes-Clean Black Sea”-this is one of the international projects, which had been successfully implemented in Kutaisi. By means of this project we were able to collect the separated wastes in our city, create the composting square, which is the first in our region, establish the international relations and share the best practice as well as the experience in this direction.

We talked about either the benefit from the project or the aspects of the future perspectives of our cooperation. In the process of implementing the project, the Municipality of the city Ungheni (Moldova) and the Association “Tehnopol Galati” (Romania) as well as the Scientific Union of Imeretian region “Spectre” were involved together with Kutaisi local authority.
