The Local Democracy Agency (LDA) organized a regional conference in Kutaisi with more women voting for local self-government. Tamar Chugoshvili, Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia took part in the meeting and spoke about the news and challenges in this regard throughout the country. One of the speakers at the meeting was the Deputy Mayor Nino Tvaltvadze, who focused on gender budgeting and women's needs in terms of local self-government. According to her, the self-government budget must be tailored to the needs of women, citing the 2018 budget of Kutaisi, where for the first time there were guidelines for single mothers. Nino Tvaltvadze also spoke about mothers with many children and their needs, saying that mothers of many children need more help and support. Here was the initiative to create a complete medical insurance package for them. The mentioned initiative is already being worked out by the Gender Council of the Kutaisi City Council, which will then be sent to the Gender Council in the Parliament.
