The distribution of food parcels in Kutaisi has started for single citizens over 70 years old.

Mayor of Kutaisi Giorgi Tchighvaria, Acting Chairman of City Council Irakli Shengelia, Majoritarian MPs of Sakrebulo and City Hall employees will deliver food packages to lonely, elderly people throughout the city.

"Now that a state of emergency has been declared in the country and some of our citizens have limited mobility, it is important that we reach out to these people ourselves and deliver food in full compliance with safety rules," said Mayor of Kutaisi Giorgi Thighvaria.

Various types of food products were handed over to the self-government by private companies: Family, Leaderfood, Magnit, Pharma, Mziuri, Argo, Anim (Nikea Market) "Coca Cola", "Daily", "Elva", "Monopoly Group and two girls", as well as the union of kindergartens. Food parcels have already been distributed in the territorial bodies of Sapichkhia and Gumati, the process continues and all 600 lonely, elderly citizens will soon receive their donation.
