Kutaisi will soon be completely supplied with 24-hour water supply. The second phase of the construction of the city water supply infrastructure is in the final stage, switching works on the new network are underway. Grigol Mandaria, Director of the Water Supply Company, together with Giorgi Chighvaria, Mayor of Kutaisi, Manager of the Kutaisi Service Center, representatives of the local government and the contractor company inspected the progress and completed works of the project. Approximately 92 million GEL has been invested in the construction of Kutaisi water infrastructure.
As a result of the project, 60 percent of the population is already supplied with water on an uninterrupted basis. In the near future, the new network will include the administrative units of the city museum and Sapichkhia. Within the second stage of the construction of the Kutaisi water supply system, two reservoirs were built in Godogani and one in Mukhrani. Also, three pumping stations were arranged. 18 km of water main pipeline and 200 km of internal distribution network were made. The infrastructure works were funded by the Asian Development Bank.
