On November 11-12,  Deputy Mayor of Kutaisi Nino Tvaltvadze participated in a regional conference organized by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Athens, Greece. The meeting was attended by 23 city leaders from Europe and Central Asia. One of the goals of the conference was to share current practices in the region.

In this regard, the Deputy Mayor of Kutaisi spoke about the social programs and initiatives focused on protecting the rights of children in Kutaisi and improving their situation. "Mayors for Children" is the first such meeting in the region. The main focus was on the financing strategy of local social services, in terms of strengthening children and families, issues of children's health, education and social protection, the involvement of young people in the decision-making process. During the meeting, mayors and their representatives expressed their readiness to create a child-centered environment in their cities.
