Kutaisi City Hall has set up an emergency headquarters in connection with the disaster. Members of the local self-government, together with representatives of the Imereti Regional Administration, Infrastructure and the Ministry of Regional Development, describe the damage throughout the city. According to the data of this time, a strong wind in Kutaisi damaged the roofs of more than 100 houses and knocked down several dozen trees. Kutaisi City Hall has been working on emergency mode for 2 days already. All citizens who have suffered any kind of damage from the strong wind through the hotline will contact all local government services for appropriate response. The mayor of kutaisi Giorgi Chighvaria together with the representatives of the Ministry visited the population affected by the disaster as well as the places where the strong wind caused special damage to the locals and got acquainted with the current situation on the spot.
"I have been meeting the disaster-affected population for 2 days. The situation on the ground is really difficult. Many houses and roofs have been damaged by strong winds. All services of Kutaisi City Hall are working in emergency mode. Citizens have the opportunity to call and report the damage. Special services work on the spot to remove damaged trees. "Cleaning the areas from tin waste. Everything is being done to timely describe the damage and respond accordingly. We have set up an emergency headquarters with the involvement of representatives of the ministry, who will go with us to the affected population and get acquainted with the situation on the ground," said the Mayor Giorgi Chighvaria.
