Davitoba is celebrated in Kutaisi. The mayor  Giorgi Chighvaria, Imereti Governor Shavlego Tabatadze, the chairman of city council Nikoloz Lataria and local self-government representatives laid a wreath at the monument to Davit Agmashenebeli. The blessing of the Chokhos was held in the Gelati monastery complex. Also, the photo-film-exhibition of the photo-film-chronicle museum of the branch of the Association of Cultural, Artistic and Educational Institutions of A (A) IP - entitled "Gelati Monastery Complex". A public lecture by Akaki Tsereteli State University professor Sulkhan Kuprashvili entitled "David the Builder and the Outer World" was also held.

"I want to congratulate Kutaisi and all of Georgia on this day. David IV is a symbol of Georgia's unity and strength. From here I want to wish Georgia strength and unification," said Giorgi Chighvaria.
