According to the decision of  Giorgi Chighvaria, the municipality is launching a treatment program for people diagnosed with HER-2 positive early breast cancer.

The treatment program for stage (I-III) disease involves co-financing of the drug Herceptin. Initiated by the Mayor of Kutaisi, the decision will be made at the City Council session.

These issues were also discussed at the sitting of the Health and Social Affairs Commission of the Kutaisi City Council today. The goal of the Herceptin program is to provide access to early-stage breast cancer treatment and a full course for patients in need.

Herceptin program is funded for the first time this year from the Kutaisi budget, the total amount of which is 20,000 GEL.
