By the order of the Mayor of Kutaisi, a commission was set up to study the actual condition of the squares owned by Kutaisi in the city. The members of the commission for its further development are the majoritarian deputies of the City Council and the representatives of the opposition party. The necessity of setting up a commission is caused by the right to build squares and the permits issued for the construction of on-site constructions. The commission will make a conclusion on the number and location of all squares in the city.

"The establishment of the commission is aimed at preventing the issuance of construction permits and places in the squares. We have found ourselves in a hopeless situation too many times due to the alienated square and the ongoing construction there. We have already stopped one similar construction. It is not allowed in a city where the ecology is not in a favorable condition to alienate squares and cut down trees. This is our principled decision. The commission will make a conclusion where the places where there is a square will be accurately described and their number will be counted, the squares will be alienated and the cutting of trees there will be completed once and for all in Kutaisi, said the mayor .
