The Mayor of Kutaisi Ioseb Khakhaleishvili and Majoritarian MP Zaza Lominadze attended the 85th anniversary event of Zurab Javakhadze, a Georgian sports researcher and an honorary citizen of Kutaisi.

Veteran and young athletes, representatives of the society remembered the long and fruitful work of Zurab Javakhadze for the popularization and development of Georgian sports at the Kutaisi Sports Museum.

"Zurab Javakhadze's contribution is special in the study and popularization of Kutaisi and Georgian sports. With his great efforts, the Kutaisi Sports Museum was established and was enriched daily with rare exhibits. "It is unfortunate that Mr. Zurab is no longer with us today, but his name and memory have always been properly appreciated in Kutaisi,"  said the mayor.

Sports monographs created by Zurab Javakhadze were presented at the Sports Museum.
