In the process of creating a municipal transformation portfolio, Kutaisi City Municipality continues working to become a “Smart-Eco city”. The project is implemented within the framework of the joint initiative of the EU and the United Nations development program “Mayors for economic growth”. Mayor of Kutaisi City Municipality - Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, deputy mayors - Iuza Ugulava and Irakli Karkashadze, members of the working group set up by Kutaisi, member of the UNDP Istanbul hub innovation team-Yara Chang and Mela Atanasova, an expert with the Chora foundation, an international organization in the field of transformational innovation, and Tinatin Tkeshelashvili project manager “Mayors for economic growth” (M4EG) and the representatives of partner organizations participated in the concluding online workshop.
Foreign experts positively assessed the work, involvement and high motivation of the Kutaisi Municipality team during the project. Summarized the achievements of three months of work. At the next stage, joint work will continue to identify inventions in the sector of waste management, environment, energy efficiency, transport and greenery, which will help Kutaisi to become a healthy and comfortable place with smart solutions and systemic approaches for its own citizens and a city with good practices, both locally and internationally.
