On February 29, 2024, Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University and Kutaisi Cultural, Artistic, Educational Institution organized the presentation of the translation of "Children of the Caucasus" by Austrian writer Arthur Gundaccar Joseph von Suttner, as part of the Kutaisi - UNESCO City of Literature program.

Tamaz Gvenetadze, a Doctor of Philosophy, Germanist, and translator, rendered the work into Georgian from German. The "Artanuji" publishing house published the translation.

The original book, "Kinder des Kaukasus," was published in two volumes in Dresden and Leipzig in 1890-1891.

Arthur Gundakar von Suttner and his wife, Berta von Suttner, the first female Nobel laureate, spent nine years in Georgia (1876-1886). They also resided in Kutaisi for a period.

The Suttners significantly contributed to strengthening Georgian-European relations. Arthur Suttner dedicated years to translating and studying the French and German versions of "The Knight in the Panther Skin". Additionally, together with Jules Mourier, assisted Iona Meunargia in refining the French translation of the poem.
