Acting Chairman of Kutaisi City Council, Irakli Shengelia met with representatives of local media organizations.

Irakli Shengelia introduced to the journalists the document of communication strategy with the public of Kutaisi City Council and the main priorities of 2020. At the meeting, the parties discussed the ways of implementing media cooperation under the Strategy Paper, as well as the challenges of existing communications and possible changes.

At the end of the meeting, the proposal of the Acting Chairman of the City Council, Irakli Shengelia, was discussed, which envisages holding meetings in the format of dialogue with media representatives.

"In order to increase the efficiency of the Kutaisi City Council and to institutionalize the public relations process and establish a systemic approach, we have developed a strategic document of communication with the public, which covers a period of one year. The document defines the communication mission, values and tasks of the City Council.

The strategy document outlines important information campaigns and other activities planned for 2020.

Our goal with this activity is to increase the involvement of citizens, non-governmental and non-governmental organizations, media, local entrepreneurs and other stakeholders. At today's meeting, we talked about new forms of cooperation, including monthly dialogue meetings with media representatives, which I believe will be productive, both in improving existing communication and deepening cooperation.

Similar meetings will continue in the future, we will meet with all interested groups in the community and listen to their opinions. By 2020, the main, valuable goal of the Kutaisi City Council is to increase the inclusiveness and accountability of the City Council, as well as to ensure the involvement of citizens in the decision-making process.
