An updated version of the official website of the municipality kutaisi.gov.ge, was presented at Kutaisi City Hall. The website was developed with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Georgia.
The presentation was attended by Mayor of Kutaisi Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mzia Giorgobiani, State Representative of Imereti region Zviad Shalamberidze, UNDP Resident Representative to Georgia Louise Winton.
Executive Director of the Georgian National Association of Local Self-Government (NALAG), David Melua focused on a new tool on the website - an interactive map created to interact actively with the government. The map shows information about the ongoing infrastructure and other projects in the city. Here it will be possible for citizens to upload a photo and a brief description of the various problems they have noticed in the city in the appropriate field, which will be followed by a relevant response from the local self-government. The interactive map is still in test mode.
“Kutaisi City Municipality successfully cooperates with the UNDP. Today we have had the presentation of one of the new projects of this cooperation. With their support, we have updated the official website of Kutaisi City Municipality, which has added several important functions from which I will highlight an interactive map, which will contain information about ongoing projects in the city. This map will allow us to cooperate actively with our citizens. We continue to cooperate with UNDP on other projects’’ said Ioseb Khakhaleishvili.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of UNDP handed over computer equipment to Kutaisi City Hall to ensure the smooth operation of the website. See Less
