A mini-stadium was organized near the residential building of internally displaced persons in Kutaisi.

Mayor of Kutaisi Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, Director of the IDPs Agency Besarion Simonishvili and the State Representative in Imereti region, Zviad Shalamberidze, inspected the completed works.

Arranging an open sports field for children and youth in internally displaced persons’ settlement was done taking into account the request of the inhabitants.

The project is funded by the German Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

 "When infrastructure projects are implemented in the internally displaced persons’ settlement, first of all we take into account the needs and desires of the people living there. It happened the same way and as a result we got this sports field, which is a really good gift for both children and adults, ”said Ioseb Khakhaleishvili.

The project, which aims to promote the social integration of internally displaced persons, their accommodation, economic and educational empowerment, is being implemented by the Danish Refugee Council.
