"I am glad that this important forum was held and it is attended by representatives of international organizations, regions ,our twin cities, representatives of donor organizations, both from our country and abroad. I would like to thank the United States Agency for International Development and the Democratic Governance Program. We have implemented many successful projects and this time we were able to hold this forum together.
Thanks to all the organizations with the support and assistance of the Kutaisi Second International Forum and all the participants who were able to get involved in the work of the forum. Kutaisi is ready to get more opportunities to become a developed urban center for the region of Western Georgia and to be the locomotive of this development. One of the most important steps we have taken is to start working on a city master plan.
The Kutaisi General Plan was defined by 4 important postulates:
1. Kutaisi as a gateway to Europe;
2. Kutaisi as the center of western Georgia;
3. Kutaisi as a green city
4. Kutaisi as a city of synergistic knowledge. We need new impulses and new opportunities.We think that these types of forums and relationships will allow us to share successful practices and, at the same time, have common approaches to specific issues. "- said the mayor of Kutaisi City Municipality Ioseb Khakhaleishvili.
The Kutaisi International Forum was established in 2019 by the Kutaisi City Municipality in conjunction with the EU Initiative for Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) and the USAID Democratic Governance Initiative (GGI).
